Festive Dressing

No doubt you've already been to at least one Christmas party, but hopefully you have a few more invites in between now and New Year's Eve.

Here's a round up of 3 party outfits fit for the festive season.

Dress, Charlie Brear, BUY HERE
Earrings, Lulu Frost for J. Crew, BUY HERE
Shoes, Saint Laurent, BUY HERE

We all know that every woman's wardrobe should include a failsafe LBD that makes her look and feel stunning wear after wear. I used this Charlie Brear dress in a photo-shoot recently and instantly fell in love with the pocket and cape detail. If I only had to buy one more black dress this would probably be it. Pair with these delicate crystal earrings and these super sexy heels from Saint Laurent (love the slope at the back, total shoe porn!)

Skirt, £50, Oasis, BUY HERE
Top, £35, Oasis, BUY HERE
Shoes, £58, Topshop, BUY HERE
Ruby Woo Lipstick, £15.50, Mac, BUY HERE

This outfit may look like a dress but it's actually a skirt and top combo. It's this season's modern way to do the LBD. Buy this and you are shopping clever as you could wear the skirt with a cashmere sweater, tights and ankle boots and the top over a white shirt and jeans for daytime. I adore these feather shoes so much so that I've already bought them. Add a slick of Mac's classic red lipstick Ruby Woo and you're ready to hit the dance floor.

Jumpsuit, £135, Whistles, BUY HERE
ZAC Zac Posen from TheOutnet.com, £151.25, BUY HERE
Shoes, Lucy Choi London, £195, BUY HERE

This has certainly been the year of the jumpsuit so I had to include this beautiful lace one in my party dressing round up! Plus it's just gone in the sale so snap it up and wear it for Christmas Day or New Years Eve. This clutch bag is super chic and would work with all the outfits I've selected. And Christmas time is the best time to wear sparkly shoes and these by Lucy Choi London are exquisite.

Merry Christmas!

These Boots Were Made For Walking

As we are now in the month of October and the weather should be getting colder soon, it's time to invest in some boots. I like an ankle boot that will work with a skirt or some trousers. Being on my feet a lot for work means I can't have the heel too high.

Topshop £72

I recently purchased these little beauties from Topshop and feel they meet all my requirements, super comfy and they work with a range of outfits.

Here is a selection of some other booties I would like to see in my shoe cupboard.

Russell & Bromley £235
I love the brogue detailing and oversized golfing tassels on these day boots. Also available in tan leather they are a good investment if you favour a boyfriend style boot.

Saint Laurent £520 from Selfridges

I adore these metallic booties from Saint Laurent, especially the Victorian style lace up detail. The soft silver leather would turn heads while the low heel gives a little elevation without crippling your feet. They'd work perfectly with a loose boyfriend jean and a breton for day, but also with a leather pencil skirt and a blazer come evening.

Zara £69.99

Zara's take on the biker boot comes with tough buckle and zip details making these boots appear more expensive than they are. They are cut just above the ankle making them leg lengthening and super flattering.

Isabel Marant £565 from Net-A-Porter
What's not to love about these boots? The khaki green suede combined with chocolate brown leather, the triangular heel, the perfect slouchy effect, the pointed toe. They are simply divine.

Kurt Geiger £295
Animal print boots are surprising easy to wear and shouldn't just be confined to the evening. This pull on style in pony leather are actually a touch lighter in person. The low heel makes them great for stomping around and the pointed toe keeps them modern. I'd wear mine with a simple skinny indigo jean and dark oversized knit.

New Season Lust List

Now that the summer sales are over all the stores are filling up with new season goodies enticing you to part with your money. It's the perfect time to invest in a winter coat, new boots or cosy knitwear. While I will be hitting the high street for my new season buys here is a list of what I would purchase if I had a money tree.

I'll start with the accessories. These Isabel Marant boots are perfection. I adore the gommet detail, the wrapped leather and side tie. They'd work perfectly with both jeans and a skirt.

Aubrey Boots £845 Isabel Marant from www.mytheresa.com

Jil Sander Navy has put a dotty spin on these lace up shoes. I live in flat shoes and these would be a fun edition to my shoe cupboard.

Shoes £285 Jil Sander Navy from www.matchesfashion.com
I'm on the search for a cross-body bag and this offering from Saint Laurent would make me so happy.

Cross-Body Bag £1,110 Saint Laurent from www.matchesfashion.com
Fur is massive for A/W. I will be buying into the trend with a faux fur coat or scarf. I am in LOVE with the coats from Shrimps, plus they have the cutest website. They also sell gorgeous scarves in fantastic colour combinations. I love the pink and red combo but am also lusting after the blue and orange.

Ivana scarf £175 Shrimps
Navy and black is a favourite colour combination of mine and this wool fedora will add interest to my winter outfits.

Fedora £118 Hat Attack from www.mytheresa.com
Now for the clothes. A coat is an item of clothing you should invest in and this cape version (capes are a must buy for Autumn) in two-tone grey would be a welcome addition to my wardrobe.

Cape coat £1000 Richard Nicoll from www.matchesfashion.com
Tailored wide leg trousers are another strong trend for Autumn and one I will definitely be buying into. This version by JW Anderson have a flattering high waist and I adore the quirky oversized ankle detail. I'd wear these with some trainers during the day and with a strappy sandal for evening.

Wide leg trousers £430 JW Anderson from www.net-a-porter.com
I love mixing textures and fabrics and colder weather lends itself to this. I'd wear this leather midi-skirt in merlot (a major colour trend for the new season) with a navy chunky knit and those Isabel Marant boots.

Skirt £1650 Pedro del Hierro Madrid from www.net-a-porter.com
The love of logo tops continues into autumn and I am coveting this oversized version by Acne Studios.

Sweater £220 Acne Studios www.mytheresa.com
You can never have too many LBD's in your wardrobe and this duchess satin dress with a fringe hem is perfect. I love the high collar, short sleeves and loose cut. I'm crossing my fingers a similar version will turn up in a sample sale somewhere!

Dress £1795 by Stella McCartney from www.matchesfashion.com
What's on your shopping list for the new season?

Birthday Wishlist

In 7 days it's my birthday and I'll officially enter my mid-30s (gulp!) To cheer myself up I've compiled a dreamy wish list of things I'd like to receive for my birthday.

Clarisonic £125

First up, the Clarisonic. I've heard so many good things about this handy device, I imagine it would buff away all the dirt and grim of London living and make my aging skin glow.

Saint Laurent Bag £904

As you'll come to realise I have a thing for bags. My mortgage would be paid off a lot quicker if it wasn't for my arm candy splurges. I've had my eye on this delectable beauty by Saint Laurent for a few months now. A girl can dream...

Valentino Rockstud Flats

And shoes! My other financial downfall. These works of art by Valentino would look so pretty on my feet and I'd love them forever. Plus they are flat so would make all the walking around I do for work that much more stylish and pleasant.

Lola's Cupcakes = Happiness

What's a birthday without cake? A rubbish one. So I'm hoping for a batch of Lola's Cupcakes to munch on (peanut butter or banoffee if anyone's reading this and feeling generous).

Exotic Kittens. Image Pinterest

And finally my dream present would be an exotic shorthair kitten to love and cuddle. And I'd call it Smoosh.
